Competition classification

The sailboat used in competitions is usually a small and light single masted ship composed of components such as the hull, mast, rudder, stabilizer, and rigging. The sailboats used in competitions can be divided into three categories: the first type is keel boats, with a hull length of 6.5-22 meters. The middle and lower parts of the hull protrude an iron or lead rudder to stabilize the hull and reduce lateral displacement. Due to the large hull, good stability, and strong sail force of this type of boat, it can only be driven in deep water. Small keel boats only require 2-3 people to operate, while large keel boats require 15 or more people to operate. The second type is a stable plate boat, which has a groove in the middle of the hull and can accommodate stable plates. The stable pole can move up and down as needed. The maximum length of the boat is 6 meters, and the minimum length is 2 meters. Due to its lightweight hull, simple equipment, ease of manufacturing, and flexibility in driving, it can navigate in shallow water. Stable board boats usually require only 1-2 people to operate. The third type is multi hull boats. Engaging in sailing can enhance one's physical fitness and cultivate a tenacious spirit of fighting against wind and waves; It is of practical significance to master various sailing techniques under various climatic conditions such as fluctuating winds and tides, which can enhance navigation knowledge and improve sailing ability.
